Presidential debate this Saturday
UPDATE: A recording of the debate is available here.
Good news: The incumbent, Bernie Lunzer, has accepted my challenge of a debate in the upcoming election for International NewsGuild president. This is a re-run of the election held earlier this year, and you might remember that Bernie declined to debate me during that contest.
I had hoped the debate would be face-to-face with an in-person audience, but Bernie would only agree to one online via Zoom. It’s set for 6:30 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 26.
The debate will be moderated by Larry Cohen, the former president of our parent union, the Communications Workers of America. He will take some questions from the Zoom audience. Submit your questions to the candidates by emailing your name, unit and local to larrycwa@gmail.com by noon Friday, Oct. 25!
This is a critically important election that will determine the leadership of our union for the next four years. Please RSVP. We'll send you a note how to tune into the debate — and don't forget to vote! Ballots are being mailed out this week and are due back before December 9.
